From what began in a small club called Club Africa in 1992, Shindig has since created a legacy of producing a significant range of events in various locations and city wide venues. From two-day festivals to site specific projects we have worked with the who’s who of electronic music and beyond.

With an undeniable influence on Newcastle’s musical scene since the early 90’s Shindig laid the foundations for the creativity and community that makes the North East so special.

As a foundation of the cities strong club and rave culture, Shindig has since conceived, programmed and promoted a range of events and worked with a wide lineup of the most influential acts in electronic music - producing some of the most successful dance music moments both the North East and UK has seen.

Responsible for promoting over 1000 events with more than 1.2 million tickets sold over the last three decades our events have ranged from small 200 capacity club nights through to large 10,000+ capacity Newcastle Arena and outdoor festival shows including Gateshead Stadium and the popular Spillers Wharf and Baltic Square events hosted on Newcastle and Gateshead’s respective quaysides.

Shindig is proud to have hosted multiple BBC Radio 1 Broadcasts including many Live Essential Mix’s recorded In Newcastle Upon-Tyne, most recently Carl Cox Live from Times Square.
